Any Non Resident owning a property in Spain has to submit yearly an income tax before the 31st of December and on a yearly basis. This Tax is called Non Resident tax.

Spanish Will for your spanish assets.
Having a Spanish Will for your assets in Spain, will avoid an increasement of bureaucracy and administration costs. In case you do not have a Spanish will the required documents (Probate) for your inheritance will need to be translated to the Spanish language and Notarised with a special stamp called Apostille de la Hague, which will be expired by the foreign office.
This process is slow and can be expensive.

The NIE is a Spanish tax identification number, required for most
formal registration and administrative procedures carried out in Spain.
A NIE number will be required when you Buy or sell a property in Spain, Inherit assets in Spain, Apply for a business permit, Apply for a mortgage or other type of loan, open a bank account, Pay your taxes. Apply for a driving license in Spain and other legal affairs.
